East Longmeadow's Paige Suse headlines indoor track top performers in first PVIAC meet Friday
INDOOR TRACK TOP PERFORMERS
Hundreds of athletes from around Western Mass. swarmed to Northampton Friday night as the PVIAC high school indoor track season got started at Smith College.
Many of the athletes saw the opening meet as an opportunity to set a benchmark, and hope to improve their times as the season progresses. Some athletes, including those from the Hampshire Regional teams, were competing in their first-ever meet.
But East Longmeadow high jumper Paige Suse wasted no time getting right into peak form. The junior, who won last year's Division III state title in the event, tied a PVIAC record with a jump of five feet, five inches.
