SURPRISING SECOND AT DUCK RACES

So it all came down to who was going to get second place. No Crum Baby, no Top Cat, La Rue was also missing. Athos is still nursing an injury.

Porthos ran the race of her life. Aramis had to pass a Central runner on the track or there would be a tie and the tie breaker was the 6th runner. The Ladyspartans HAD no 6th runner. Chicopee Comp was pressing the issue as well.

Y2J had to push rookie Ryan Express to HER limits in order for everything to fall into place.

Sister Sledge had to do HER best to withstand the Agawam onslaught.

TEAM.

Only a total team effort added more hardware to the trophy case.

For the third year in a row, the East Longmeadow Harriers did not leave empty handed.

EL 76, Central 78, Comp 83...Whew!

DUCK RACES RECAP

Mountain Dew receives her FOURTH Duck Race shirt on Saturday from Mrs. Dutkiewicz.

East Longmeadow hosted for the second year in a row and perhaps the event which originally started out as the Central Invitational in 1996 has a permanent home. A record 13 schools participated.

This year as well, USATF and Massachusetts Hall of Fame Starter, Mr. Ken Caouette made an appearance and helped out.
KEN CAOUETTE started the first Women's Olympic Games Marathon in 1984 in Los Angeles.
We are still not certain what the guy next to him ever did.
